Jeffrey Cox
A watercolour portrait of my husband Jeff. I started this picture in the summer and picked it up a few days ago and finally finished it. I do enjoy painting peoples faces and it's even harder doing the ones you know best. I really didn't know what type of background to give him, but I finally decided to go with a Gustav Klimt inspired pattern.

Chantelle Berg part 2
Chantelle is just completely obsessed with fish, so I felt it necessary to put in a fishy wallpaper design and scaly top. The fish were intended to be in silhouette form as to not detract too much attention away from the beauty that is Chantelle. I must admit she has to be one of the hardest faces I have painted yet.

Chantelle Berg
My current portrait is of Chantelle Berg, fellow artist and amazing friend. This time I thought I would show you the process of my work. Firstly I select a photo or image of my model and grid it up. I then directly draw the image straight onto the watercolour paper, shading and all! Before I would laboriously make one copy then transfer it onto watercolour paper, but I found this was a waste of time, besides I am so impatient all I want to do is get the paint on!! Watch this space for the finished product...

Arlan Kopp
What a face! Faces that are expressive like play doh are my favourite. The background I designed for this portrait reminded me of wallpaper best suited to a teenage boy's 1980's bedroom.

There is a fine line between imaginary faces and real ones. This one is imaginary. I just love making up people that don't exist...or do they? This was the first portrait I had done with the green leafy background, initially inspired by Frida Kahlo. Her portraits always have a lush forest behind the model.
This artwork I made as a greeting card, which I sent to my mum back in the U.K.

Self Portrait
I've been bad! I forgot all about my wee blog. Lately I've been inspired a lot by the artist Daniel Mackie. I just love his watercolour designs. He seems to be on the ball with his blog posts too, which has in affect made me post this. yae! Hope you enjoy.
