Portrait Textile art
I thought would add some photo's of a small series of textiles I made a few years ago whilst I was living back in Vancouver. I was really inspired by Beatrix potters watercolours and the idea of being really small, like teeney weeney! Oh and I love plants! Especially the ones people like to pull out their garden and disregard as a weed. Silly folks. The top image is a portrait of my dear friend Chantelle. Enjoy!

Marie Antoinette photo shoot
There's no tea in here! |
Posh people play guitar too you know. |
I must laugh like a Lady. |
My husband works at a camera store and on the weekend we decided to play dress up. Of course it was all my idea. I had recently just watched Marie antoinette (2006) with Kristen Dunst and thought WOW! So I hunted round the house to see how I could pull this off with whatever I owned. I made the corset 10 years ago, the pink fabric is the table cloths from my wedding and the white hair is a pillow I have drooled over for five years. Classy I know, but we all need a little fantasy in our lives.
